September 2010 - Wendy Ford cycles to Paris
As many of you know, in February 2009 I received a stem cell transplant at University College Hospital in London which I believe has put an end to the cancer that has been trying to bump me off since 2004.
Through my lifelong friend Helen Timpany, one of the organisers of this ride I received spiritual support from her Church, St John’s in Hartley Wintney. I owe St John’s a very big thank you and in return I am helping them raise funds for their much needed new Church Hall by taking part in this cycle ride to Paris starting on 2nd September.
If your sponsorship is generous enough I would like to make a donation to my local Church, St Mark’s here in Normandy to help with its ongoing refurbishment programme as well as make a donation to the Leukaemia and Lymphoma Unit at University College Hospital which has enabled me to take part in this adventure.
To sponsor me: Simple go online to the dedicated website HARTLEY WINTNEY TO PARIS BIKE RIDE. If you click on ‘cyclist’ at the top and go to my name you will see a direct link to my ‘just giving’ page.
If you prefer to donate to St Mark’s Church in Normandy or University College Hospital please send a cheque to me personally at Bailes Farm, Normandy, Guildford Surrey GU3 2BA.

Springfield light sculptures are used to re-create an atmospheric ice bar setting in a recent series two episode of the highly successful BBC drama “Mistresses” shown in March. We worked closely with the production team to transform a night club in Bristol into a fantastic, state of the art “Ice Bar” for the show.

Springfield expertise provided the opportunity to undertake one of its most ambitious projects to date in the construction of the UK’s largest artificial Christmas tree standing at 90’ tall. Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in Ellesmere Port turned to Springfield for this bespoke Christmas tree enabling them to develop the Christmas message into a major destination attraction with a measurable rise in footfall.
X Factor fever descended upon Cheshire Oaks as thousands of fans gathered to witness 2005 winner Shayne Ward accompanied by two of this year’s finalists Scott Bruton and Laura White, taking to the stage for the Christmas ‘switch on’ spectacular. The tree towered above this vibrant scene sparkling with 100,000 LED lights and over 80,000 baubles, providing the perfect ‘Kodak moment’ for shoppers.
